Hurrah, we’re not often up for awards. Never in fact. Even this one’s not really us so BIG Hats up and Off to Hawaii Design who are shorlisted for our Designersblock Illustrate Graphics in The Design Museum Designs Of the Year Awards.Hawaii Design came up with the idea of using anagrams of the word Illustrate, our favourites were sent to U.S.A. based illustrator Oliver Hibert who invented a character for each of the four anagrams, these were used for posters, invites, shirts billboards, signage to welcome visitors to Highbury Studios in Holloway back in September during the London Design Festival & 100% Design. Here is some of the artwork. Enjoy and keep your fingers and everything else crossed for Paul Mcanelly up against a shortlist of 100 or so.

Brit Insurance Designs of the year at the Design Museum.

The first in an annual exploration of the most innovative, interesting and forward looking new work in design of all kinds. Selected from around the world, Brit Insurance Designs of the Year presents 100 projects nominated by a group of internationally respected design experts, curators, critics, practitioners and enthusiasts. These projects fall within seven categories: architecture, fashion, furniture, graphics, interactive, product and transport. The exhibition gives an overview of the most significant achievements in design and architecture in the last year, whether they are projects by a
practice, a team or an individual.

An international jury, each with expertise in their respective fields, will select a winner for the Brit Insurance Design Awards, recognising the best of contemporary design from around the world in each category as well as an overall winner. These winners will be announced and presented in March 2008.
