Kaniez is exhibiting as part of the group ‘0.6 collective’.

The made to order fabric collection designed by Kaniez Abdi brings together the fusion of hand crafted textile techniques such as machine & hand embroidery, heat bonding, trapping, cutting, painting, layering and pleating making each fabric distinctive for the interior market. Kaniez will be showing her new fabrics collection at the show.

Kaniez has been a freelance textile consultant for the past ten years, working in various disciplines such as trend/forecasting, fashion, film and interiors. Her vast experience in these industries has allowed her to build a high profile client base, such as Calvin Klein, Donna Karen, Kenneth Cole to name a few. Kaniez in the past has produced a variety of interior products including lampshades, wall lighting, textile art, digital prints and soft furnishings. At present Kaniez is collaborating with a company called Kontextur who make cutting edge curtain rings. She is currently working on their first collection of shower curtain designs which will be launched at ICFF in New York in May 2009 and are now going into production.

Designersblock London 2009 takes place during the London Design Festival over 5000 square meters of space alongside 100% Design in Earls Court One.
