Kithkin Presents Freya Godwin-Brown at Designersblock London 2009

September 7, 2009

Rock Steady Easy’s starting point began from a recent trip to Shanghai.

Freya based her collection around the developing skyline, from the empty shells of completed but not yet inhabited buildings to the skeletons of the complex framework. She transferred these aesthetics to the forms, shapes and colours found within key pad buttons and the three dimensional qualities of vacuumed packaging. In response to this she created a sculp-tural collection through pushing the boundaries of design and textiles, combining a variety of different media to create an innovative material.

Through this cross disciplined approach she has researched materials that are not typical-ly associated to textiles but yet can still be incorporated harmoniously with fabric. These can then be moulded and manipulated into three dimensional objects that synthesize with her initial concept.

Designersblock London 2009 takes place during the London Design Festival over 5000 square meters of space alongside 100% Design in Earls Court One.
