Alice Rosignoli designs are playful, functional and cleverly non-invasive, reconciling the need for space in reduced living spaces and the need for furniture. Also she’s no mean photographer, here are some pictures she took at the show together with a portrait by Toby Summerskill.
Chorus Design Group are interested in the ways in which design can place the home in the city and the borderlines between interior and exterior.
In Milan they introduced ‘Paoloa’. Outdoor seating in Corian with a mattress like form incorporating an urban abat-jour which is a device to throw light downwards. Here are some pictures of ‘Paoloa’ in action.
Product designer Katarznya Okinczyc & graphic designer Igor Peczkowski launched two collections this April in Milan, ‘Dogenvol’ and ‘Bannerina’.
Dogenvol fuses tradition and modern reality to create high end products.
Traditional Polish crystal glass manufacturing combined with pattern and print are used to make fabulous objects like the ‘Cabo’.
Vahakn Matossian first appeared on our radar with some amazing work back in 2006 when he was doing an internship with Studio Troika. So we were delighted when he contacted us to participate in the Milan show. Here are some pictures from the show.
Established in 2007 by Sonia Ambrosano and Lachlan Munro, Studio Roam presented exquisite, knitted products for home, travel, baby. They put together such a nice press release before that the show that we’re publishing the whole thing because it’s abit special. Belgian designer James Van Vossel brought his label JAMES to Milan to present a product range called ‘Cool At The Pool’ which included ‘Frou Frou’ sunglasses made with YOUR cut hair ready in 15 minutes. Here are some pictures.

In April at Piscina Argelati [we]make cordialy introduced Milano to ‘Beryl & Friends’ Discarded table lamps were collected, shrink-wrapped and brought back to life glowing with LEDs to take on mysterious silhouettes inside their cocoons. In Milan Matthew Plummer-Fernandez presented a range of experimental designs translating sounds into objects. The sound chair returned to Italy resolved and purple alongside new projects ‘Sound Tagging’ and ‘Drowned in Sound’. Here are some pictures. Photography is by Toby Summerskill.
Lambert Kamps Art&Design is a studio from The Netherlands. In Milan it presented a vast inflateable structure housing a cinema, bar, special animation and on Saturday night Amsterdam’s finest DJs La Bolleur.
