My work is based around the idea of using traditional techniques with unconventional materials, allowing the materials to look and behave differently than expected.
I am inspired by reflection and refraction of light. The interactive behaviour of a material that shimmers and reflects as you move around it is something that I bring into my work. With the use of lighting technologies and contemporary materials I am pushing knitting into new realms of possibility. I create installations and fabrics that “play with light” and provide a unique and magical form of decoration for interior and exterior use. Pieces that appear one way in daylight and then transform in the darkness.
