The Wall of Great China is our celebration of locality, craftsmanship, and British manufacturing. Many of the designers we work with have developed relationships with ceramics manufacturers based in the Potteries in and around Stoke on Trent. Mutually beneficial, these relationships give the designers the opportunity to work with craftspeople and technicians with years, often decades of experience working with ceramics. For the manufacturers it gives them the opportunity to experiment, prototype and develop products that complement their heritage ranges. Friendship, collaboration and playfulness are all part of bringing these products to market, something which should be apparent from the beautiful pieces on display here.
Pictured here is Trophy by UK based Japanese designer Emiko Oki just one example of the work we’ll have on show on The Wall of Great China. Also featuring work from Phoebe Richardson, YoYo ceramics, Reiko Kaneko, Donna Wilson, Ayda Anlagan, Peter Ibruegger and others to be confirmed.
