Italian designer Davide Bianchi creates unique furniture collections within a series of individual themes, his latest being manipulated furniture pieces.
“A victorian style armchair discovered in a back alleyway in Sydney. Re-worked with industrial car paint and reupholstered with old style blue velvet.”“I came upon what was initially a very straight forward glass table top at the same auction as I found the Olympia day bed. It had a recognizable shape but I could not grasp it at first. It’s one of the most simple shapes, a cross inside a circle, the same as the top of a screw. The table‘s entire structure is covered by 1500 zinc screws… screwed by hand.”
“This is a one off piece found in an auction house in Leichhardt Sydney. The style is English with a cane seat, which is now replaced with an industrial look. I restored the seat with alumunium sheets, using basket weaving technique, rivets and studs, all finished with acid to create texture.”
