Designersblock award at New Designers
Monday, May 23rd, 2011Since our launch in 1998 Designersblock has provided support, advice and showcasing opportunities for new businesses and graduating students starting out on their professional careers. This year we have teamed up with New Designers to offer one graduate a fantastic package of support that includes exhibition space, mentoring and desk space at our Shoreditch offices.
The prize will be awarded on the 7th July during week 2 of New Designers. Now in its 26th year, New Designers at the Business Design Centre in Islington is unrivalled in Europe in bringing together such a broad cross-section of fresh, new design talent under one roof. Every July, over 3,500 newly graduated designers, representing the top 200 UK design courses, come together at New Designers to meet industry employers, media, trend predictors and a design hungry public.

Milan Ventura Lambrate 2011
Monday, May 23rd, 2011Designersblock Milano 2011 took place between April 12th and 17th in the Light Space a former warehouse in the Lambrate district in the north east of the city. We presented over 100 UK and international exhibitors kindly supported by UKTI in this wonderful former industrial space. Featuring exhibitors from UK, Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, Israel, Korea, Cyprus, Austria, Australia, Germany, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Sweden, China, Finland and Portugal this was the 11th annual Designersblock show during the Milan furniture fair. Supporting Growth – presenting – Edward Vince

Edward Vince is a designer, curator and practicing artist. He currently works full time with The Future Laboratory where he specialises in strategy led branding projects and design for print, whilst also running Vince & Son, a collaborative studio platform. He cut his teeth with exhibitions, events and projects produced with collective KithKin alongside Designersblock beginning in 2007 at the London Design Festival and subsequently involved exhibitions in Tokyo, Milan and Birmingham and client work for WGSN and Selfridges.
