Matthew Plummer-Fernandez produces a variety of work spanning and combining many fields including design, sound, music, engineering, art, illustration, photography, programming, and technology.

He was born in London UK, raised in Cali, Colombia and then returned to London for his studies in Computer-aided Mechanical Engineering, then Graphic Design, followed by an MA in Product Design at the Royal College of Art.

In that time he has also produced work for Selfridges, Designersblock, Covent Garden, Hayward Gallery, ArtsCo, Bloomberg, Mothercare, Yamaha music, and others, as well as initiating his own investigations such as the sound/chair that has received worldwide attention. He has exhibited work in several countries, and in 2009 won the FX Breakthrough Talent of the Year award.

Pictured here is a chandelier composed of recycled computer mice that he recently completed for the canteen in the Bloomberg corporate headquarters.
