The 16th competition Young Package announced its winners on May 26. Have a look at the original ideas in packaging design made by students and young creators!
Young package was founded to invite students and creative people up to 30 years of age, and challenge them to create designs of corrugated and smooth cardboard as used in the sponsor’s packaging design. The competition was divided into two categories. The first category, “Product Package”, focused on “Package for a national product” and the second one, “Different View”, brought this year the theme called “Book as a product for words”.
The winner of the category “Product Package” is a Czech designer, Diana Winklerová, with her package for glass products “Flagwrapper-Czechwrapper”. She managed to break the dominance of Canadian students after four years. The victory in the category of secondary schools goes to the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Uherské Hradiště. Its student, Tomáš Chludil, convinced the jury with his “Case Merkur” for a well-known Czech iron unit construction.
The “Different View” category this year focused on graphics brought a new theme “Book as a package for words”. Participants had been asked to playfully wrap or materialize words into the form of a book. In this category 85 very diverse works had come together. The winner was a student of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno, Nikola Kalinová, with the book “Of Hidden Letters”.
