How can textiles express our rapid consumption of the planet’s resources?
Sabatina Leccia’s work is a visual metaphor aiming to communicate that we are consuming too much too fast. Through the invention and reinterpretation of existing objects, a collection of products were created, each one designed to visualise a specific set of data or specific material scenario.
Through exploring methods of ‘designed destruction’ and removing calculated portions of material Sabatina aims also to question if we can design in a more material-efficient way.
