As a result of scrutinizing the links between mathematics and embroidery, a distinct design methodology has been established. Meticulously formed patterns developed from a combination of mathematical procedures and textile imagery have been embellished onto hard surfaces with an emphasis placed on colour and scale.
From this enquiry, an audible combination of visual juxtapositions have been recognised and put into play between design mechanisms, process and materials. As a continuation of the inquiry into the divergence and amalgamation of soft textile practices and hard materials, a strong relationship with product design has been assembled through the contextual amplification of functional interior surfaces.
