“It takes a special eye to look at the quotidian- a radio, a toaster, a washing machine- and perceive its potential as a work of art, but London-based sculptor Camilla Barnard does just that. Using accessories of everyday life as her muse, she hand-carves common items from wood, then paints and illustrates them to look like the originals; thanks to Barnard's impeccable attention to detail and scale, they are often mistaken for the real McCoy.”

For LDF 2013 with Designersblock Camilla will be presenting her installation 'I've got wood, what do you want me to do with it?' A 3 walled 2M x 6M stucture, 1/3 being a showroom with a revolving floor filled with an array of previous sculptures, the other 2/3 will be a functioning wood workshop.
Above the showroom will be a big spinning gameshow wheel with lots of random objects written in each section. In a gameshow fashion, Camilla will be inviting visitors to have a spin of the wheel, what ever the wheel lands on will be then made in the workshop, painted and quickly added to the showroom, all before the hour long timer has run out.
Barnard TV will also be bradcast on the wooden flatscreen TV for the duration of the show.
