In January we were commissioned by United Business Media to create Designersblock & Co for Interiors UK 2013, the department store that you will never see, with products that aren’t in department stores today.
We gathered together some of the brightest UK and International talent from our network of designers to stock a fantasy department store to explore what future retailing could be.
The Department store featured Furniture, Lighting, Ceramics and Product the departments within Designersblock & Co included Homewares,Electrical, Haberdashery Toys , Perfumery and our own florists. See pictures of the exhibition here

Designersblock Milano Tortona 2013
Designersblock Milano Edition 13 takes place in the magnificent 7000 Square Metre OFFICINE CREATIVE ANSALDO on via Tortona operated by Comune di Milano and Barley Arts.
We will be in the heart of Tortona the original and busiest Design Zone in Milano for the duration of the most important Design Week in the world, Fuorisalone 2013.
OFFICINE CREATIVE ANSALDO is directly opposite SuperStudio. Visitor numbers in the area in 2012 were 100,000+.
We welcome applications from Designers, Manufacturers, Collectives, Groups, Colleges and Companies.
With Installations, projects, product launches, collaborations, workshops, presentations and interactions.

Designersblock windows for Me & City
Designersblock were asked by the Brand Partner to curate a series of windows for Chinese fashion brand Me & City for Christmas 2012, the windows went into the Me & City store in central Shanghai and Beijing and 400 of their other stores.
We involved several design studios in the proJect, Manchester based Lazerian created the womens window, Postler Ferguson from London worked on the mens window with Matthew Plummer Fernandez taking care of the kids window. Read more about other Designersblock retail projects here
Designersblock with Heineken
The Magazzini is a creative hub featuring: Global design-led brand Heineken, Global design network PechaKucha, Cool Hunting, a digital publication about innovation and creativity, Digital design pioneer Joshua Davis, in his first appearance at Milan,Vectorfunk artist Matt W Moore.
A series of daily workshops from The Magazzini collaborators will be announced in the run up to Milan Design Week. The winner of Heineken’s 2013 Your Future Bottle Design Challenge will also be revealed during the week.
Celebrating its third consecutive year at Milan Design Week, Heineken is an iconic brand with a passion for social design. After last year’s crowdsourced pop-up nightclub in Milan, Heineken again affirms its commitment to young designers and consumer-inspired innovation through its Open Design Exploration programme.
Positioned on Via Valenza, in Tortona (adjacent to Porta Genova station), this pioneering and experimental space is a must-see in this year’s Milan schedule.

Designersblock at Pitfield
From the 15th of February Designersblock will be hosting an exhibition at Pitfield store and Cafe in Shoreditch. The exhibition will feature furniture, lighting, ceramics,homeware, wallpaper and gifts.
The vessels pictured here are by Sabatina Leccia will be on sale. We will also have several workshops and events taking place during the period, visit the Designersblock website for details.
